Mother Goose Time has a great variety of add on items that you can order with their amazing curriculum. This month I decided to try out the Dance N’ Beats! This summer has been unbearable here in Georgia and I really wanted an indoor gross motor activity. This was the ticket! Also, in group activities Xavier tends to be a little shy about dancing or doing motions. I hoped if he got comfortable with that kind of thing at home, he may break out of his shell a little at Story Time.
Dance N’ Beats comes with a DVD that chorigraphs dances to all of the songs for the month. There are 21 basic moves that they build off. The movements they choose make sense with the song and work on important gross motor development. The dances are easy enough for X to do, but still a little bit of a challenge. It will be great to build on and become more familiar with the dances the more we do them.
MGT includes the dvd as well as a great guide if you choose to use Dance N’ Beats as a stand alone course or if you’d like extra projects to build on the standard curriculum. As with all Mother Goose Time courses, you can use as many or as few of the suggested projects as works for you.
My kids love music, so both my 3.5 year old and my 1 year old really enjoyed dancing to the beat!
