Play Dates!

My kids have been sick since before Thanksgiving. Like lay on the couch, sipping tea, sleeping terribly at night because they’re so congested kind of sick. So we haven’t done much Mother Goose Time. BUT this gives me a great opportunity to highlight some fun MGT inspired play dates we had last month that I didn’t manage to get up on the blog!

My lovely friend (and neighbor) and I have a great arrangement where she takes the boys for 2 hours in the morning while I clean like a mad woman and I take her two kiddos in the afternoon so she can do the same. This has really given us a great opportunity to use some of the MGT activities that are designed for a group of kids. And boy do they love it!

The Chef and game was a really huge hit! They did amazingly well taking turns and  really enjoyed both ordering as the customer and being the chef. I worried a little that they would fight over wearing the hat, but they understood that the chef wore the hat and traded it back and forth nicely.

After following the “rules” of the activity nicely for many turns they followed their imagination and began some undirected play. Which I LOVE. I love when they’re so inspired to take it in their own direction.

I’m so excited to pull more activities this month to use doing our play dates. This eliminates bickerING or fighting over toys, keeps everyone entertained and having fun AND they’re learning!

What do you do during play dates at your house?

I received this month’s Mother Goose Time curriculum free of charge in exchange for sharing our experience and my opinions. All content and opinions are 100% mine and truly honest.
