Itsy Bitsy Spider

Today’s Mother Goose Time theme was The Itsy Bitsy Spider. I’ve sung this song to both of my boys since the day they were born. With the celebration of X’s 4th birthday this weekend, it was a little sentimental. It was also really fun!

We built spiders out of lacing beads, which were one of this month’s manipulatives! We counted legs and talked about the body parts of a spider.

X also got to build his own spider web! He really enjoyed this project. I love when he really develops his own ideas surrounding a project. I figured he’d just glue the strings down. He decided to wrap them around the twigs to recreate the spider Web pattern. I loved his innovative idea! This was also a great opportunity to discuss the function and dynamics of spider webs. He really loves learning about different creatures.

Check back in tomorrow for details on an awesome GIVEAWAY!!

I received this month’s Mother Goose Time curriculum free of charge in exchange for sharing our experience and my opinions. All content and opinions are 100% mine and truly honest.
